I’m so excited to start sharing glimpses into our wedding planning process on Design Darling! We’ve been engaged for three weeks now and we’re making slow and steady progress on getting our church and reception venue booked. It’s definitely a little tricky since we’ll be getting married on Nantucket (as so many of you predicted!) and most people are off island for the winter. But I’m excited to get those contracts signed so we can move on to the fun stuff!
It’s a little crazy how much goes into planning one day and I’m feeling pretty thankful that we’re having a longer engagement so I don’t have to rush too many decisions. I’m definitely already noticing that a longer engagement helps when planning a destination wedding! Our big day will be in September 2017 so we have 20 months to enjoy the process and soak up every single second of this exciting time in our lives.

Of course there are a bunch of things I’ll want to keep to myself as we plan our wedding (because it’s such a personal process and because we want to leave a few surprises for our guests!). A few of the many things I’m excited to talk about in the many months to come? Our engagement party, cute ways to ask your bridesmaids, dress options for various wedding-related events, decor and flower inspiration for the reception, registry picks, cool vendors I discover online, and whatever else comes up as we go along! I hope this will serve as inspiration for those of you planning your own weddings, helping your BFF or sister plan hers, or pinning to that secret Pinterest board of yours (#guilty). As always, if there’s anything you’re particularly interested in, I’m all ears!
