This past Saturday, Will and I drove up to Litchfield County to explore the area and enjoy the changing leaves (which are just now starting to turn where we live along the coast). My parents have always raved about all the little towns in this corner of the state and it was fun to explore some of them with Will, who as a native Texan couldn’t stop marveling at all the old homes and colorful foliage.
We stopped for lunch at the White Horse Country Pub in Washington, did a little window shopping at Privet House in New Preston, and made pit stops at the West Cornwall covered bridge and the Ellsworth Hill Orchard in Sharon. The covered bridge wasn’t particularly exciting in person, but we really enjoyed everything else and honestly just liked having a few pit stops in mind while we took in the landscape as we drove along. It’s such a beautiful part of New England and we’re both excited to get back to do some more exploring so if you have any favorite spots in the area, let me know!
I wore this affordable cashmere sweater — I think it’s my fourth or fifth one from this brand at Nordstrom and I’m seriously impressed by the quality considering the under $100 price tag. I paired it with my J.Crew field jacket, a piece I’ve worn into the ground over the past few years, and a pair of leopard mules by Kate Spade that I wore with a dress during fashion week. A casual, simple outfit plus a fun and not totally practical shoe… I’d say that’s basically my year-round uniform. 🙂
J.Crew field jacket (also love this one) // Halogen cashmere sweater // J Brand jeans
Ray-Ban clubmasters // Tory Burch satchel // Kate Spade leopard mules (also love this style)
