I’m so excited to share our Christmas decorations in our new house! We might still be living out of boxes upstairs (?) but I was determined to decorate for the holidays since we’re celebrating locally with our families this year. We are definitely having Christmas Eve and Christmas dinner at my parents’ house (since our whopping four dining chairs can’t accommodate ~20 people haha) but I’m going to see if we can get everyone to come down to our place for Christmas morning or at least a couple Christmas movies that day!
There was no logical place for our Christmas tree in the living room so we set it up in the dining room where we can also see it driving up to our house. We’re still looking for a tree topper (maybe this, this, or this?) but our tree skirt is from Williams-Sonoma Home and the majority of our ornaments are from Mary Cates & Co. in Dallas. And you might recognize the needlepoint behold ornament from our wedding — it’s part of the saying painted inside the chapel and our dog Rory wore it around his neck as our ring bearer!
I’m in love with this bay leaf garland (it smells SO good — I’m going to get one every year) and this tartan ribbon wreath and have been trying to keep them alive as long as possible by spritzing them with water every couple days. I also ordered a mini tree for our foyer and topped it with these ginger jar ornaments for a little pop of color since the foyer is not remotely decorated yet.
These Simon Pearce candlesticks were one of my favorite wedding gifts and I’ve been keeping them out on our dining table because they just make me so happy. I mixed in these tartan candles on the tabletop and these peace, love, and joy candles in our bookshelf for a little extra holiday cheer!
I’m so excited to share more of our new home with you in 2018. As little fun as it is to move, I always have the best time envisioning and decorating a new space!
