I’ve shared photos of the current coffee table set-up in our family room which we’ve changed over time to accommodate two active little boys for whom acrylic and glass are not ideal choices. 🙂 I love, love, love this woven coffee table and wanted to share how I’ve styled it to be both aesthetically pleasing and practical around our kids. (This is how I styled a coffee table in a previous living room before we had kids — books almost to the edge of the table with a large candle or vase at the center.)
Since all my beloved coffee table books would be destroyed if they were easily accessible to our eleven-month-old, I’ve found having a large tray and one central stack of books is an easy and still attractive way to style a coffee table with everything just out of his reach.
White Scalloped Lacquer Tray
I originally had a circular woven tray on top of the table (which you can see in this post), but I wanted to break up all the wicker and woven textures in the room and fell in love with this white scalloped lacquer tray. It comes in a ton of colors available on Chairish. But I really wanted the large white one so I ordered directly from the company’s website and I love how it looks in person! Pretty, practical, and just right for this season of life. 🙂 You can get a similar look with this and this too.
