A couple months ago we replaced our worn out navy blue sectional with this white IKEA sectional. I know, I know… a white sofa with three little kids and a fourth on the way? My mom repeatedly cautioned me that we’d have a very hard time (ahem, near impossible) keeping them remotely clean in a space we routinely use for things like family movie night. But the heart wants what it wants and I’ve wanted a white sofa in this family room since we moved into this house, and I convinced myself we could keep it clean after I stumbled upon these affordable cushion covers for the bottom cushions. Finally a perfect solution for having white couches and little kids coexist in the same room!

If you’re going to choose a white sectional with young kids, I would first and foremost recommend choosing a white slipcovered sofa where you can order an additional washable slipcover as back-up. But I personally don’t want to be washing and swapping out white slipcovers in our family room every week or two, which is why these cushion covers come in handy! They wrap around each cushion like a fitted sheet and replacing the whole thing with new covers takes maybe five minutes. I ordered this large size for each bench cushion and then the small size for the square corner seat (and then a second set of all three so I can replace them right away when I throw one set in the wash!).

You hardly notice the cushion covers when they’re on and they’re the perfect way to maintain white furniture around small children with less stress. When we have company for the holidays, I can easily remove the cushion covers to reveal perfectly clean white cushions underneath!
