I’m excited to share the first before and after from my family’s home on Nantucket! This is one of the guest bedrooms on the second floor and for the past fifteen years we’ve referred to it as the fish room because of the unfortunate underwater-themed fabric on the window treatments and slipper chair. It finally has a fresh look with white walls, dark wood floors, painted headboards, new bedding, a new jute rug, new lighting, and new cover for the slipper chair! My mom and I agree on our dislike of themed decorating (or themed weddings for that matter — don’t get me started!) and really, shouldn’t every beach house be decorated in blue and white?
The new bedding was a lucky find from Nordstrom’s home department. They just started carrying Southern Tide’s home collection and I think all the bedding is so cute! (By the way, not quite right for Nantucket, but these pineapple sheets were meant for a dorm room or first apartment!) The striped comforters are by Nautica and then we brightened them up with Southern Tide pillows in bright cobalt and nautical stripes. I love the way everything pops against the newly white headboards (which you may have seen me painting on Instagram stories a while back!). I have so many Nordstrom home favorites right now so I’ll link a bunch in the slideshow at the end of the post. Enjoy and happy weekend! xx
