STRIPED AND SMOCKED TIE SHOULDER DRESS

I’ve shared many tie shoulder dresses on my blog over the years and this one is one of my all-time favorites! Smocked dresses are one of my favorite styles to wear while pregnant (and beyond!) so I’m always searching for new styles to add to my closet and this striped one was a no-brainer. Don’t be surprised if/when you see me repeat this exact outfit on Nantucket in the near future!

One month with Rory 💙

I remember feeling the stresses of this chapter so acutely as a first-time mom, consumed by 2 a.m. Google searches and wondering when (if?) I’d ever feel like myself again. It’s not that this phase is any less exhausting the fourth time around, but I feel like each age of our children’s lives reveals a slightly more capable, slightly more confident version of me who’s better able to rise to the occasion for the various triumphs and challenges each chapter of motherhood has in store.

I feel so intent on relishing this little newborn bubble where the rest of the world fades away a little bit and life is so singularly focused on meeting the needs of this teeny tiny new miracle and his three older brothers. There are things I love and treasure about every age we’ve experienced so far, but these slow days and long nights with our children as newborns hold such a special place in my heart.

I wish I could go back and relive that first newborn chapter with the perspective of a fourth-time mom, but I can only try to reassure any of you who find yourselves in the thick of it. I’ll tell you what I think I most needed to hear then: you are doing a great job; you are exactly the mom your little one needs; it feels hard because it is hard; and just you wait: everything is going to be so much more than okay. 🫶🏼
