I’ve been saving photos of Elizabeth Park rose garden in West Hartford, CT, on Instagram for a couple years now and Will, the boys, and I finally made the drive this past weekend! It was about an hour and a half drive to and from our house in Darien and while I wish we’d timed it better (read: gotten out of the house faster) so as to arrive earlier in the day, it’s definitely a place I can see us returning to year after year. It gets crowded but it’s stroller-friendly and an easy place to let kids run around. It also reminded me the teensiest bit of this magnificent rose garden Will and I explored on a pre-kids trip to Paris and really, any time I can be in Connecticut but be reminded of France is a worthwhile drive in my book! I also think the gardens would be even more in bloom by the first week of July so you still have some time to visit if you’re in New England!
P.S. You can see a few other Connecticut adventures we’ve taken here, here, here, and here… time to cross #87 off my 101 in 1001 list!
