THE BEST NURSING-FRIENDLY DRESSES AND TOPS

I had a request for a round-up of the best nursing-friendly dresses and tops I’ve found over the course of breastfeeding my first, second, and third babies so today I’m going to share my go-tos! My list of nursing-friendly outfits comes down to four options: button-down shirts, cardigans, shirtdresses, and smocked dresses like the nap dress. I love these classic J.Crew button-downs because you can add a monogram for a personal touch (great to keep in mind for gift-giving season as well!), but this AYR button-down has a great boxy silhouette if you prefer something less fitted (you can see me wearing it while pregnant in this post). And I wore this Mille shirtdress in these photos and I’ve worn it a dozen times since for every occasion from a girlfriend’s birthday dinner to Teddy’s birthday party earlier this month. Lastly, you’ve heard me profess my love for the Hill House Ellie nap dress a zillion times on this blog, but it gets extra points in my book for being both bump-friendly and nursing-friendly (truly no small feat!). I hope this is helpful — please pass along to any new moms in your life!

P.S. I never really fell in love with a proper nursing bra, so I’ve worn one of these bralettes nearly every day for the past four years. I’ll probably be ready to burn my collection by the time we’re finished having kids, but they’ve definitely been a wardrobe staple these past few years.

P.P.S. More on my breastfeeding experience here, herehere, and here if you’re interested.
