One of the goals on my new 101 in 1001 list is to needlepoint something for both of my parents so this summer I started working on a needlepoint belt for my dad! It’s fun to see how much I’ve improved and how much faster I’m able to stitch since I needlepointed a belt for my husband several years back. I had ordered my husband’s needlepoint belt canvas through this company that does custom orders but I picked up this canvas at Erica Wilson on Nantucket. (I came up to the island without a project and quickly realized I needed something to keep myself off my phone at night! I’ve had a few moms ask me how I find the time to needlepoint with kids and it’s something I do more nights than not while we watch TV after the kids are down for the night. I first learned the summer of our wedding in 2017 but the habit definitely cemented itself as a saving grace for my mental health in 2020!) I did tweak a couple of the icons to make the belt more personal which you can see in the needlepoint highlight on my Instagram!
P.S. How I started needlepointing, the big project I completed before this one, and 20 fun needlepoint canvases you can order online!
