HILL HOUSE SABRINA DRESS IN BLUE BASKETWEAVE

I initially ordered this Hill House Sabrina dress because the style I really wanted in this blue basketweave print had sold out but I still really wanted something in this gorgeous print. But I couldn’t believe how much I loved it when I tried it on! The Sabrina dress is the kind of piece you wear to your birthday party or to celebrate your anniversary — fabulous and feminine and twirl-worthy to boot. Definitely a special occasion-worthy style and I can’t think of anything more fitting for summertime on Nantucket!

I don’t have a clearcut sizing recommendation for the Sabrina dress — I wear a size XS in the Ellie nap dress and initially ordered the same for this and the Ophelia dress I wore in this post, but exchanged the latter two for a size small because they felt a little too taut across my ribcage. I do think the size small is the better fit in the Ophelia dress, but with this Sabrina dress, I’m thinking maybe I should have stuck with the XS as there’s now extra room in the bodice? I might try to have it tailored as it’s such a perfect dress otherwise, but then again my chest and/or ribcage will probably change sizes again next week so… 😂 Oh the joys of postpartum/nursing/weaning/etc.!

I will say I especially adore the puff sleeves on the Sabrina dress and hope we’ll see them in new Hill House dresses in seasons to come. Truthfully I would love the basketweave print in more colors and new styles too! The fitted waist and midi length skirt are both such beautiful feminine details (and make it feel perfectly age-appropriate even though it’s a little low cut compared to what I usually wear!) and make for the most flattering silhouette. I love having the option of the hidden clasp along with the covered buttons and waist ties and will definitely keep an eye out for this style in different patterns in future seasons!
