Tucker turns one today! I’ve probably written a version of this on each of our children’s birthdays but I don’t know how a whole year has come and gone. I remember Teddy and Peter coming to meet him in the hospital like it was yesterday and now he is his own little person brimming with personality and eager to go, go, go. Most days he is just happy to be in the mix and along for the ride! He wants so badly to be able to keep up with his older brothers and try as I might, I know I can’t keep him this little forever.  

While of course this day will be about celebrating our little guy, I’ll also admit that I truly mourn the end of the baby days more than anyone else I know and it definitely hasn’t gotten any easier with each subsequent child. I’ve made a concerted effort over the last couple months to slow down and really soak him up in this stage, not absentmindedly scrolling on my phone while he’s nursing but really studying and marveling at his little nose and eyelashes and fingers. I am so grateful for his easy disposition and his precious dimpled smile. He is such a special little guy and I thank my lucky stars he is ours. Happy happy birthday, buddy! We love you!!!
