OUR FAMILY BEACH DAY ESSENTIALS

We’ve made it through our first few family beach days with four young children this summer and I wanted to share a little family beach packing list for anyone with a family beach vacation coming up! Of course any outing with young kids is at the mercy of curveballs like a fussy baby or an overtired toddler, but in general I find a little preparation getting all the right essentials together goes a long way in increasing the likelihood that the whole family has a good time.

A few highlights: I got this beach bag a couple years ago and it’s a great idea if you’re looking for something that’s waterproof, rinses off easily, and has lots of space for beach towels, sun hats, beach toys, baby wipes, and other essential items. I almost always dress our boys in rash guards for easy sun protection but I do like having a beach tent for the baby — I ordered this cute striped pop-up tent to add to our assortment of beach gear this year and I love that it has a window opening for a little cross-ventilation. And this sunscreen applicator is such a great idea for touch-ups on young children who tend to get a little squirmy when it comes to sunscreen. I hope all these picks have you enjoying your next family beach day!
