Any time I wear a smocked dress from Hill House, I get asked what kind of bra works with nap dresses and I wanted to share two that work for me! I think you can totally go without a bra under smocked dresses but after breastfeeding four babies, I personally feel more comfortable wearing a little something underneath. While we’re here, six plus years on I’m still singing the praises of the original Ellie Nap Dress. It is one of the most comfortable, flattering, and versatile dresses I’ve ever owned and it works for pregnancy, breastfeeding, and beyond (photo evidence of all the life stages I’ve worn it in below!)

This bra has a scoop neck that works perfectly with the Ellie nap dress. If you’re wearing a different Nap Dress style (like the new Marguerite), this comfy bandeau bra is my pick.
