One of my favorite things about the arrival of warm weather is pulling my assortment of favorite straw and wicker bags down from the top shelf of my closet. Is there anything better than a little wicker basket bag or an oversized straw tote with a simple summer outfit? Even the most casual outfits — think beach cover-ups or denim shorts — can be transformed with a classic straw bag. Every year I round up the best straw bags, raffia bags, and wicker bags in different shapes. I absolutely love my Mme.Mink Onassis wicker tote in cornflower blue and would love to invest in the cognac tan leather version at some point. A wicker tote with a leather handle is always a great pick because it will wear well and stand the test of time better than a handle made of natural materials. It’s also a great size in that it’s large enough to hold a full-size wallet, baby wipes, diapers, etc.! Mme.Mink makes wicker bags in so many different shapes and sizes, any one of which would fit right in with a classic summer wardrobe.
Not pictured above, but if you’re looking for an easy beach bag, I love the Hat Attack traveler straw tote bags that allow you to carry a straw hat on the outside. It’s also a great size for a family beach bag — you could easily roll up a couple beach towels, sunscreen, a water bottle, etc. If you prefer a beach bag with a leather handle, this Mark & Graham style is a great pick! In general I would also say straw and raffia bags are easier to travel with than wicker basket bags, so that’s something to consider depending on what your summer travel plans consist of!
