What are Floafers?
Floafers are lightweight slip-on shoes that come in adult and kids’ sizes — think handsome toddler loafers but in a waterproof rubber that’s easy to clean, with holes that keep feet ventilated on hot days.
How our boys wear Floafers
The magic of Floafers is that our boys can (and do) wear them virtually everywhere. They have a durable rubber sole to grip surfaces at the playground and summer camp, but they’re also the perfect toddler loafers for dressier occasions like church and dinners out.
They’re also waterproof, so our boys wear them to the pool and the beach all summer. (You could literally use them as water shoes without having to worry about any smelly odors, plus they’re buoyant so they won’t sink if you wear them boating etc.!)
Last but definitely not least, I love that our kids can easily get their Floafers on and off by themselves (whether we’re running out the door or trying to leave the beach!), which I can’t really say for any other pair of shoes in their closet.
Are Floafers true to size?
I find Floafers run true to size, but if your child has wide feet, I would order a size up for the right fit. The good news is you can order with free shipping on Amazon if you need to exchange for the perfect fit!
Floafers only come in whole sizes, so it can take a little back-and-forth with their size guide to ensure a great fit. If you don’t have one of these inexpensive shoe sizers, I highly recommend one for figuring out your kids’ sizes at the beginning of every season!
The most versatile Floafers color
Floafers come in a ton of fun and different colors, but I personally stick to the neutral hues when it’s time to order new Floafers in the next size up. The driftwood brown color is my go-to for our boys — it’s boring in a good way, because it goes with absolutely any outfit, which matters a lot when they’re wearing them everywhere from their brother’s baptism to a friend’s birthday party!
