I own more button-down shirts than any person should, but truly if I could only choose one outfit for everyday wear, a casual button-down shirt and jeans would be my first choice every time.
I wanted to share three of my absolute favorites — the button-downs I wear on repeat year-round under jackets and sweaters but also with shorts as we (finally) head into warmer weather. If you’re looking for a new button-down or two, any of the below would be an excellent choice!

1. Sézane Max shirt in white
My favorite white oxford shirt is the Sézane Max shirt. It makes for a truly classic look whether dressed down with denim shorts or dressed up with silk pants or linen trousers. In my opinion this is the perfect casual button-down shirt — I’ll even wear mine open over a swimsuit at the beach or pool.
I wear the size 2 and it’s the perfect oversized fit, but you could size down if you prefer a more fitted look.
2. AYR Deep End shirt in oxford blue
Another can’t-live-without-it for classic style is my favorite blue button-down: the AYR Deep End. This is my absolute favorite everyday shirt in the perfect shade of blue oxford cloth and always the best option with white jeans.
It also has an oversized fit — I have the XS and have been able to wear it reasonably far into each of my pregnancies (around 7 months pregnant with Tucker here). If you only choose one shirt from this post, this one sees the most everyday wear for me!
3. Tuckernuck blue striped cropped Jasper button-down
I also love the look of striped button-down shirts, and this Tuckernuck Jasper shirt comes in a great crisp blue and white stripe that looks great with both blue and white jeans. The option to add a subtle script monogram takes it to the next level in my opinion!
It’s a much more cropped fit than the other two so you’ll need to pair with high-waisted jeans if you plan to tuck it in, but I love it equally when it’s untucked. I wear the XS but you could size up if you want a boxier fit.
