MY BEST PURCHASES IN JANUARY AND FEBRUARY

Happy first day of March! I always love the start of a new month and this year I’m honestly pretty happy to put the month of February behind me! Wanted to kick off the month with the best things I bought in January and February:

My best purchases in January and February

Mother Mid Rise Dazzler ankle jeans: I’ve been on the hunt for a pair or two of jeans that feel flattering and comfortable on my body at six months postpartum and these were an instant winner. I like that the silhouette feels a little more current than my go-to skinny jeans — which I’m not giving up, rather just branching out from! — and the rise isn’t so high that they’re uncomfortable to sit in. I had them hemmed a couple inches but if you’re taller than I am (5’1”), the length could work right out of the box! You can see them on me here and here.

Oxo stand up bath toy storage: Somehow our nightly bathtime has grown to include about 400 rainbow-colored plastic toys that were littered all over our hall bathroom every night and it was driving me crazy. A quick Amazon search yielded this plastic bin for bath toys that has holes to let water drain out. Simple but satisfying to put everything away and instantly makes the whole space feel more tidy!

Amazon slingbacks: I have a pair of satin cap-toe pumps from J.Crew Collection years ago that I always find myself reaching for when I’m getting dressed for an event or dinner out and I desperately wish they would make them again so I could buy a back-up pair or two, but these Amazon slingbacks satisfy a similar need and have been in heavy rotation since the moment they arrived. The grosgrain toe makes them a dead ringer for Chanel but you can’t beat the (well under $100) price tag!

La Ligne Mini Marina sweater: I have this sweater in a navy and white stripe and would happily purchase it in ten more colors. It’s 100% cotton so nothing itchy or scratchy and a perfect weight for year-round wear — equally cute under a camel coat in winter and thrown over your shoulders with white jeans come summer. The Mini Marina has a cropped length so I ordered the size small for a little more length (I’m wearing the XS here and it’s a little more cropped than I’m currently comfortable with) and can’t recommend it enough. Perfect striped sweater, found.

Amazon towel warmer: The Amazon find I didn’t know I needed until it came across my TikTok for you page. It takes a few minutes to really warm up, but it truly doesn’t get better than stepping out of the shower into a heated bathrobe. We’ve also used it at bathtime for the kids which is kind of a game-changer if you too have kids who never want to get out of the tub.

Hill House Isla swim top and Lola swim bottom: I wore the pink Rosie one piece when I was pregnant last year and find the square neckline and ruffle sleeve so flattering, but I think this year is going to be the start of my high waist bikini era. (The one piece is so chic especially if you’re pregnant and can’t comfortably do the high waisted bottoms, but I find a bikini more practical for breastfeeding, going to the bathroom, etc.!) I definitely haven’t been excited to try on swimsuits for this summer but this one made me feel pretty the moment I put it on and that’s worth sharing! I got the size S in the top and bottoms and I also ordered the smocked bandeau swim top to get two looks out of the same swim bottom. And then I’m going to wear these shorts (also in the size small — I found the smocked waist much tighter on the shorts than the dresses!) as a cover-up of sorts. The whole combination is flattering, forgiving, and super chic no matter what phase your body is in at the moment.

Uniqlo U crew neck short-sleeve t-shirt: I’ve heard people rave about these $15 white t-shirts for years and finally decided to give them a try as something to layer under this jacket I’ve been wearing a lot recently. Ummm where have these been all my life?! I immediately ordered a second one in white and two more in navy. (I did exchange the small for the medium, as I would say they run small and they’re 100% cotton so likely to shrink a bit, so definitely order up a size or even two!) They’re flattering, soft, not sheer, and again they are under $15! Highly recommend.

Minnow Bahamanian blue stripe boardie swim trunks: I bought these striped swim trunks for each of our boys and can’t wait for another matching swim moment this summer! I find their swim trunks run small so I would order up if you’re deciding between two sizes or ordering ahead for summer. I got the size 2T for Tucker who will be 10-11 months this summer because I find the size 1 is really better for a true infant (and the waist is a little snug once you factor in a swim diaper underneath!) and then Teddy (who’s on the smaller side for a 3.5-year-old) and Peter (who will be 2 in April) will both wear the 3/4T this summer. If you have a little girl, the matching one piece is just about the cutest thing I’ve ever seen!
