PLANS FOR DECORATING OUR BEDROOM

Our bedroom has been pretty much last on the decorating to do list since we moved into our house a little over four years ago. I’ve gone back and forth a million times on what I want to do in there as it’s very small for a primary bedroom and yet I want it to feel distinct from our children’s bedrooms on the same floor. Since we’ve loved the applied trim we added to our foyer, stairwell, and upstairs hallway (you can see before and afters as well as cost for that project in this post), I decided adding trim to the walls in our bedroom would help elevate the space and distinguish it from the more casual beadboard trim we have in the nursery and what is currently Teddy’s bedroom (also a work in progress). The trim is going up this week and then below you can see my plans for what other pieces will be coming into the space!

Plans for decorating our bedroom

We’ve purchased our bed, a Serena & Lily dresser that’s since been phased out of their line in favor of this similar design, and this rug over the past few years and now I’m excited to add color with these trellis wallpaper panels I’m having framed (sadly we don’t have 12’ ceilings so I trimmed them more than I would have liked to fit our space!), this incredible oversized art print (an abstract of a formal garden that reminds me of our trip to France in 2018!), and these pretty green lamps above the dresser. I’m also working with a workroom on Etsy to create window treatments for above/behind our bed! Things are still very much a work in progress but I’m hoping to have it mostly completed in the next month or so. Stay tuned!
