I hope everyone’s 2025 is off to a good start! I shared some reflections on the past year and thoughts for the year ahead here if you’re interested and today I’m sharing my 15 best purchases of 2024! These purchases range from household favorites to newfound style staples — I always find something good when I read these kinds of lists from other people so I hope you discover a new favorite or two here as well!
P.S. My best purchases of 2023, my best purchases of 2022, and my best purchases of 2021.
My 15 best purchases of 2024
1. Brainspark magnetic blocks
Apologies if you’ve heard me rave about these blocks more than once, but if you’re a mom of kids ages 2-10ish, you simply need to have these in your arsenal! They’re sturdier, smaller, and easier to transport than Magnatiles so they’re ideal for little hands at a restaurant or on a plane.
2. KidKraft kids’ picnic set
The most adorable outdoor picnic table with two cushioned bench seats and a striped umbrella to boot. I’ll admit I initially bought this primarily for aesthetic purposes but it was an even bigger hit with our kids, who loved having their own table for al fresco dinners all summer.
3. Uppababy double stroller
I have so many thoughts on stroller set-ups for various age gaps and sibling combinations and feel like we finally, finally got it right this year! We brought this double umbrella stroller to Paris and London with our then two- and four-year-olds and it was a dream. I wish I had gotten this earlier instead of the single Babyzen Yoyo stroller we brought to Italy two summers prior — if you have multiple little ones close in age, please learn from my mistake!
4. J.Crew denim shorts
This was the year I locked in a daily summer mom life uniform comprised mostly of J.Crew denim shorts and my favorite $15 t-shirts. I size up in both the denim and the white denim and the fit is perfection!
5. Boden linen shorts
Speaking of shorts, for a more polished look, these linen shorts from Boden were a huge hit both in my personal wardrobe and in terms of how many of you ordered and loved them too! They have a tailored look in the front but an elastic waist in the back and I loved wearing them with button-downs and t-shirts all summer long. You can see them in action here.
6. Wonderwagon stroller wagon
One would think that five years into parenthood we’d acquired all the strollers we would ever need, but alas. I don’t know how the concept of a stroller wagon was never on my radar until our friends brought theirs for a day at the Bronx Zoo with five boys under the age of five and it made the outing ten times more enjoyable for adults and kids alike. I immediately ordered to Nantucket for daily walks to the coffee shop and playground for our boys and their cousins and friends (it was also a big hit for a day at the brewery when multiple kids sat inside it and played with the aforementioned magnetic blocks!). Definitely not a must-have for every family, but if you have multiple little kids close in age (three under three, three under four, etc.) it’s been a big win for us.
7. Pistola Penny jeans
My favorite denim discovery since having babies. The high waist, wide leg, and cropped length fit me right out of the box (I’m 5’1” so they’ll be a little more cropped on anyone taller!). I need to find a comparable pair for fall/winter because it’s so nice to have one pair of jeans that just always looks the way you want them to!
8. Adidas sneakers
I wore these constantly all fall and can’t wait to bring them out again in the spring. They’re perfect for weekend mom mode (think playground dates and soccer spectating) but feel appropriate to wear with jeans too. I bought our boys their own Adidas sneakers (sold out but these are similar) and loved that it was our own little twist on mommy & me.
9. Jenny Bird gold bangles
I can be a little intimidated when it comes to jewelry — I know what I like when I see it, but it’s not something I naturally have an eye or inclination for layering on my own. I love that these bangles create an instant collection and go with just about every outfit I might put on. I’ve reached for them countless times since I ordered them and consider them one of my better jewelry purchases in recent memory.
10. Stylest swimsuit
Like many moms I’ve had a hard time finding swimsuits that feel good after having three babies and offer full enough coverage for chasing said children around at the beach. This sculpting style offers both compression and sun protection and I love the puff sleeve detail. You can read a more in-depth review here but if you’re between two sizes, I would recommend sizing up.
11. Lululemon Align leggings
I’ve gradually amassed a small collection of these leggings in the 28″ length over the years and they remain the style I reach for above all others, especially when I’m pregnant. I usually wear a size 4 and ordered a few of the size 6 to get me through my third trimester, but I think I’ll be able to wear them once I’ve lost weight from this pregnancy too. I’ve tried so many other brands and always come back to buying these in multiples — they’re just the most comfortable in my opinion with no tight waistband and no super compressive fabric. I’ve yet to fall in love with any of the Amazon dupes I’ve seen recommended; my friend Jen has a category of favorite products she calls “regrettably worth it” and these undoubtedly fall into that category for me.
12. DL1961 maternity jeans
My favorite maternity jeans before this pregnancy were these white skinny jeans, but I wanted something a little more current and more appropriate for a due date in March where my second and third trimesters would land in the fall and winter. I tried on a bunch of pairs and landed on these elastic panel wide leg jeans that I love as well as this over-the-bump pair that I wear when I want less volume on my lower half. Shopping for maternity jeans is always something of a saga in my experience but I hope these pairs will end the search for some of you!
13. Momcozy pregnancy pillow
I ordered a new pregnancy pillow in my first trimester and I like it even better than the one I used in my first three pregnancies because of the U-shaped part that fits between your knees while you sleep. As a heads up, it shipped rather flat but puffed up in a day or two and has been a huge help getting as much rest as one can while still waking up to go to the bathroom three times a night. 😉
14. White cushion covers
We replaced our past-its-prime navy sectional with a white IKEA sectional this fall and while the white is admittedly not the most practical choice as we prepare to have four boys under 6, I love that I no longer worry about fading. I bought these affordable white cushion covers from Amazon that I swap out like a fitted sheet on the bottom cushions and they are a game-changer for keeping the white sofa looking brand new! You can see them in action here.
15. Target toddler slippers
I bought these slippers for all three boys this fall thinking they’d be cozy to wear around the house, but they all love them so much they’ve wound up wearing them out for activities and errands quite a bit too. The style reminds me of the Ugg Tazz slippers that have been popular the past couple years but for kids, you can’t beat the $15 price tag on these!
